Been using RSS a lot lately with NetNewsWire and RSSHub, and it's been quite fun :blobfoxcofe:
Feels nice to have this centralized place to read news and updates from selected sources without the distractions and anxiety of social media

@RyanCaoDev Maybe a self-hosted RSS server, you know, like FreshRSS or Miniflux (which I'm using now) would be a good choice.
@RyanCaoDev And it seems that NetNewsWire supports the GReader API, so you can connect it to your RSS server and access the same content anywhere.
@crisq Hmm, what benefits would a hosted RSS server offer other than sync? I'm using iCloud sync currently on NNW
@RyanCaoDev For example, I use Miniflux to sync RSS feeds between my Linux desktop and my Android phone. Obviously, it's more open and doesn't need to rely on the iCloud ecosystem.
But if you currently have and are ready to use the full iCloud ecosystem for the long term, I think the current solution is great
@crisq Alright, good to know :catstair:
I think I used to have this thing deployed https://github.com/5t3ph/eleventy-rss-reader, I think the functionality is similar?
@RyanCaoDev well ...... Maybe so, I actually don't know much about the functionality of this project, but Miniflux can interact with any supported RSS client via the Fever or GReader API, like Mastodon which can interact with Tusky or Tooot.
@crisq Update: I've deployed a Miniflux instance, and it works quite well! Thanks for the recommendation :blobfoxnomfox:
